Organization of practice-oriented education in the industry of tourism and hospitality on the example of the department of tourism and ecology of Vladivostok State University of economics and service

Abstract

The modern tourism and hospitality industry requires highly qualified specialists with a versatile and high-quality education in specific areas within the tourism and hospitality Industry. At the moment, in the context of active modernization of society, including the desire to in-
crease efficiency and optimize work processes, enhance integration and democratization, it is necessary to pay attention to the level of professional tourism education. Today's specialist must meet certain requirements and standards, have a broad universal training, the ability to adapt and navigate in the changing conditions of market relations, be flexible and quickly engage in various types of work. Purpose: to determine the place of practice-oriented education in the
formation of a training system for the tourism and hospitality industry. Methods: methods of analysis of secondary sources of information, systematization, interpretation, induction and deduction, identification of cause-and-effect relationships, comparative-descriptive, statistical methods and a survey method were used. Results: during the study tourism and hospitality industry theoretical aspects of education were considered, we carried out an analysis of the train-
ing system in tourism and the hospitality industry in the Primorsky Territory and survey on the content of educational programs of the Department of Tourism and Ecology (IITH VSUES), and proposed a mentoring scheme in the framework of educational practices. Scientific novelty: the article clarifies the concepts of "educational service", "practice-oriented learning" and offers a definition of the term "mentoring system in a university". Practical significance: the proposed conceptual framework for the implementation of practice-oriented learning is universal and can be applied within any university and any discipline.
